As the sector continues to harness the power of data to revolutionise the industry, this panel will discuss the successes and pitfalls of digital adoption in the Irish market. Government has clearly set out its aim to digitalise the construction industry by 2030, an aim that been supported by the work of the CSG Digital Adoption and Innovation Working Group and the implementation of the BIM mandate. This panel will discuss the supports that have been put in place to mobilise the entire supply chain as well as the realities, opportunities and threats that currently exist. Topics will include:

  • the role of the public sector client in driving digital advancement
  • the importance of leadership, cultural change and collaboration
  • the continued role of data management to increasing productivity
  • addressing knowledge gaps and supporting the entire supply chain

The continued development of Modern Methods of Construction has been embraced by Government; however, this needs to be supported through the provision of sufficient pipeline to allow the industry to reach economies of scale. With the plethora of related Regulations and Directives being implemented at European level, the role of digitalisation is continually coming to the forefront as an enabler of the change required.
